Just a quick note to let our newsletter subscribers know that today -- March 25 -- would have been Flannery O'Connor's 82nd birthday.

Renovation of the Flannery O'Connor Childhood Home here in Savannah hit a few delays, but work continues. Those who live nearby may have already seen the new stucco and staircase on the front facade of the house, but the interior renovations will not be finished for another month or two.

We are planning a small gathering/celebration/fundraiser/belated birthday party for May. We will send information about that event as it becomes available.

Our next full newsletter should be sent to you in a few weeks.

Finally, we'd like to thank all of you who have signed up to receive periodic emails about the FOC Childhood Home Foundation. Special thanks to those of you from around the country who joined the mailing list after seeing the wonderful piece about O'Connor last month in the New York Times.
